Antonio Cavazos-Escobar, Practice Administrator

Antonio graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of the Incarnate Word, he then earned his master’s degree in Healthcare Administration in 2017. He was a college athlete playing Tennis at a Division I level and named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll. While pursuing his undergraduate degree in Biology, he worked as a tutor for college students in the areas of Anatomy I&II, Biology I, Chemistry I &II and Spanish I & II. He has voluntary work experience in Orthopedic Surgery, Interventional Radiology and Family Medicine. In his senior year he worked as a Medical Scribe at the Methodist ED Main and as a Medical Assistant at Community Family Medicine upon graduation.

At the start of his master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, he started an internship at RMA of Texas, analyzing its revenue cycle and insurance reimbursements, along with strategic management, budgeting, and projection planning. During his master’s degree he represented UIW as a board member for the American College of Healthcare Executives, and President of the Healthcare Leadership Student Association at the University of the Incarnate Word. After working at RMA of Texas, Antonio was hired as a Revenue Cycle Analyst at the corporate level of Christus Health System. He was then transferred to a regional position at Children’s Hospital of San Antonio as a Revenue Integrity Coordinator and then quickly promoted as the Team Supervisor. Antonio was then offered a position at South Texas Spinal Clinic as the Director of Revenue Cycle and Operations. Antonio is currently the Practice Administrator for Freedom Spine and Pain Center.

Antonio is originally from Mexico and has been in San Antonio for more than 10 years. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Leaders of San Antonio. Personal interests include spending time with family and friends, golfing, and boxing.
